Cabernet Franc

Cabernet Franc
It is undoubtedly the best wine produced in Friuli for long ageing. It is made with a long maceration. Of an intense ruby red, it is rich, strong, tannic, and wild with a characteristic, intense, winy and pleasant perfume; the taste is dry, full-bodied, soft, and herbaceous. After aging the herbaceous taste disappears and leaves place to the wide range of shadings of the greatest red wines.

Accostamenti gastronomici
When it is young it goes with cold meats of the great cuisine. When aged it is one of the best wines with roasts, especially with game, with plates of meat, and with hard and aged cheeses. It should be served at 18-20°C.

Franconia

Franconia
A vine of Croatian origin. The wine presents a not very intense ruby-red colour, delicate winy scent and a dry, soft flavour with a slight aromatic touch. It can be aged for a few years.

It is a wine red recommended with roasts and stew. The serving temperature is 15°-16° C.

Merlot

Merlot
The wine has a ruby-red colour, more or less intense, turning to garnet red after a short ageing. It is a dry, bodied, harmonious and savoury wine with a slight herbaceous taste and presents a full and scented bouquet, with delicate hints of raspberry. The wine develops a delicate bouquet and a bitterish flavour.

Accostamenti gastronomici
It is recommended with red meat dishes, roasts, poultry, rabbit and with half-seasoned cheeses. To be served at 18° C.

Refosco dal peduncolo rosso
Of a garnet red tending to purple, the wine has an intense and pleasant bouquet with hints of blackberry and underwood. Savoury, slightly tannic, bitterish-bodied, with a long-lasting and nice aftertaste. When young it is winy, fragrant, and scantily herbaceous. It can also be stored for one or two years, especially if produced in favourable years.

Accostamenti gastronomici
An excellent wine for fat-meat dishes, poultry, stew, except for the dishes typical of the regional cuisine. To be served at a temperature of 16-18° C.

Tocai

Tocai
The colour of this wine is pale yellow, tending to greenish. Tocai is a great wine: fine, delicate, with an intense scent reminiscent of wild flowers; dry, fresh, soft and velvety with a distinctive flavour of bitter almond, very round. It presents a medium content of alcohol and limited acidity. This wine should be drunk when it is still "young". It is better to anticipate of a few days the vintage. It is one of the best products of the Friulian oenology.

Accostamenti gastronomici
It is an ideal aperitif wine and it excellent with snacks, thin soups, pasta, fish and white meat dishes.

Verduzzo Friulano

Verduzzo Friulano
It is a typical Friulian wine of ancient origins. It has quite a strong golden-yellow colour and a pleasant, fruity, delicate, winy, characteristic bouquet; bodied, dry, sweet and slightly tannic, this wine is suitable for a short ageing.

Accostamenti gastronomici
The sweet Verduzzo Friulano is strongly recommended with deserts, strudel, fritters, etc. The serving temperature should be 8°-10° C.

Sauvignon

Sauvignon
Made in presence of grapes' skin, this wine has a light golden-yellow colour; it is rich, full-bodied, with an intense aroma. Both the bouquet and the flavour remind of exotic fruit, yellow pepper and melon. This is not a wine suitable for ageing.

Accostamenti gastronomici
It is an ideal aperitif wine, and it is superlative with ham snacks, noble fish such as crayfish, lobster, scampi, salmon and salted fish, creamy and delicate soups and omelette. It is served at a temperature of 8°-10° C.

Pinot Grigio

Pinot Grigio
This type of Pinot Grigio is auburn because it is left in contact with the skins for 24 hours. It is robust, impetuous, enjoyable to the eye and of high quality. The distinctive and strong bouquet is reminiscent of the acacia flower. The flavour is dry, nice, full, and pleasantly bitterish with a strong sent of artemisia.

Accostamenti gastronomici
It goes very well with starters, ham in particular, light soups, risotti, fish and with meat dishes. The ideal serving temperature is 8°-10° C.

Traminer Aromatico
Of a pale-yellow colour more or less strong, this wine has a fragrant bouquet reminiscent of vanilla and lime; the flavour is fine, aromatic, with a suggestion of bitter almond. It is a great white wine.


Accostamenti gastronomici
This wine goes very well with cold starters of good cuisine, fish dishes, tasty cheeses, and main courses (pumpkin gnocchi). It should be served at a temperature of 10°-12° C.
